Troxerutin 200 mg is an oral medicine in the form of hard capsules, dispensed without a doctor's prescription, which helps to eliminate the symptoms of venous and lymphatic circulation, especially in the area of ​​the lower extremities, which include: heaviness and pain in the legs, night cramps and varicose veins. It can also be used to treat haemorrhoids.

The active substances of the preparation are hydroxyethylutosides, flavone derivatives (flavono-adenosine diphosphates) FAD and FAD-H2, thanks to which it has a protective effect on capillary blood and lymph vessels, ensuring them adequate tension and elasticity, prevents them from breaking and limits their permeability. It improves blood and lymph flow. Hydroxyethyl rutosides also have a protective effect on liver cells, inhibit aggregation and increase red blood cell plasticity.

Indications

Treatment of symptoms of venous and lymphatic circulation disorders, in particular in the lower extremities (feeling of heaviness and pain in the legs, night cramps, varicose veins) and relieving symptoms associated with the presence of haemorrhoids.

Composition

1 capsule contains:

active ingredient: O-β-hydroxyethylutoside 200 mg,

excipients: lactose, potato starch, colloidal anhydrous silica, sodium lauryl sulfate, erythrosine (E 127), titanium dioxide (E 171), sunset yellow (E 110), gelatin.

Action

Protective for capillary blood and lymph vessels, improving blood and lymph flow, preventing breakage of capillary blood and lymph vessels.

Dosage

Always use this medicine exactly as your doctor or pharmacist has told you. Check with your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure.

Adults: 2 capsules 3 times a day for 4-6 weeks.

The preparation is administered orally. It is recommended to take the preparation with meals. Your doctor may recommend that you continue treatment for a few more weeks. No case of preparation  overdose has been reported. In the event of taking larger amounts of the preparation, empty the stomach and consult a doctor. Do not use a double dose to make up for the forgotten dose.

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity to any component of the preparation.

Side effects

Like all medicines, this medicine can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them.

The preparation is well tolerated.

Uncommon symptoms may occur: rash, itching of the skin, transient nausea and gastrointestinal disturbances, headache, sleep disturbances. Dose reduction or periodic discontinuation of the preparation is recommended.

The preparation may cause allergic reactions due to the content of dyes in the capsule shell.

It does not affect the results of basic laboratory tests.

It limits the proagulatory activity of the blood plasma.

Warnings and Precautions

This medicine should be used with caution in patients with rare hereditary problems of galactose intolerance, the Lapp lactase deficiency or glucose-galactose malabsorption.

If a woman is pregnant or breastfeeding, thinks she may be pregnant or is planning to have a baby, consult a doctor before taking this medicine.

Driving vehicles and operating machinery

The preparation does not affect the ability to drive and use machines

Use of preparations in elderly patients

There are no contraindications for the use of the preparation in elderly patients.

The preparation contains lactose.
