HERBAPOL WROCLAW

In Poland, the oldest and at the same time the largest producer of herbal medicines is the Wrocław Herbal Company "Herbarol" SA.

The production of herbal medicines started already in June 1945 at the plant in Legnica. It soon turned out that the Legnica plant was unable to meet the growing demand for herbal medicines. Therefore, in the 50s in Wroclaw, on Knyaz Witold Street, a Wroclaw herbal company was opened with the same profile as the plant in Legnica. At the same time, a Plant of Plant Raw Materials was established in Wroclaw.

In 1961, both factories were merged into one enterprise, which was named the Wroclaw Herbal Company "Herbarol". Two years later, the Legnica plant of herbal preparations was joined to this enterprise.

Since 1963, the Herbarol Wrocław Herbal Company has included six factories - two in Wroclaw and one each in Legnica, Stanowice, Nysa and Kluchbork. The first three produce only pharmaceuticals, the other three are engaged in contracting, procurement, as well as sorting and drying of raw materials.

At the end of 1993, the company was transformed from a state enterprise into a joint stock company, the shares of which are owned by employees.

In 2008, as part of the restructuring, five enterprises remained in the company's structures - two in Wroclaw and one each in Legnica, Nysa and Stanowice.
